A tyneside mum is demanding answers after her two-year-old cut her arm in a public toilet.

Sinead, two, went to Gateshead's Saltwell Park with her mother Michelle and some friends, but ended up in hospital having stitches.

The youngster, from Bensham, cut her arm twice on a metal toilet roll dispenser.

Mrs Thompson, 35, also mother to Ciera, six months, Caitlin, seven, and Connor, 11, went to the park with Sinead and her friend Lucy Hart and her sister Charlotte, 11, on Wednesday.

The housewife said: "I was horrified when I saw she'd been cut in the toilets. One of the cuts was quite deep and we had to take her to hospital.

"The dispenser was as sharp as a razor blade and I don't know what it was doing there. It should have been taken down.

"Sinead might not be the only person to have been cut. I'm appalled.

"I've spoken to my solicitors and they've said I've a good case for a claim.

"Staff at the hospital said she was lucky it didn't get her in the eye ( it was at that height. …
