In our regular look at the structure of North-East companies, we focus this week on Sunderland arc, an urban regeneration company with ambitious plans to transform Sunderland into a first-class European city.

Tom Macartney

Tom is a chartered surveyor with a national reputation in regeneration. He was previously director of Crown Street Regeneration Project in the Gorbals, Glasgow. Tom is a board member of the City of Sunderland Local Strategic Partnership and a director of the Sunniside Partnership.

Jonthan Bretherton

Jonathan is a chartered surveyor with extensive experience in development, having worked for Young Group and HJ Banks. He was latterly managing director of the Greenbelt Company in England. Jonathan is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors' national regeneration policy panel.

Tomasz Kozlowski

Tomasz has worked for a range of public and private organ- isations, most recently English Partnerships and One NorthEast as a senior development manager. He is a chartered surveyor and Assessment of Professional Competence assessor. Tomasz has more than 20 years' mixed regeneration development and project management experience and won urban regeneration company status for Sunderland arc.

David Walker

David has worked in the private sector for more than 15 years and has wide- ranging project and cost-management experience, having worked latterly for Faithful & Gould. He has worked on a number of key developments in the North-East and is well versed in the delivery of major projects. David is a chartered surveyor.

Michael McConnell

Michael is a chartered surveyor with more than 15 years' experience in the development and valuation of residential, industrial, commercial, retail and leisure property throughout the North-East.

Michael has worked for a number of local authorities, most recently being employed as divisional head of land and property at Derwentside District Council. …
