LANCE Price, Alastair Campbell's former deputy at Number 10, will not be begging on the streets after cashing in with the publication of his entertaining Downing Street diaries. But is it bad news as far as the guest house he runs in the southern French village of Montclus is concerned?

I hear at least one former Labour Party special adviser has cancelled a planned trip to Lotus Tree, with his boyfriend, fearing that any association with Price (above) can only damage his future career prospects.

Price and his partner James Proctor established the Lotus Tree, which boasts the "warmest welcome in the south of France", following his departure from frontline politics. Guests particularly enjoy "the large pool and wooded area where clothing is optional" and the website displays a gallery of near-naked men in a variety of poses.
