I'm still in shock from Sunday's horrendous defeat to Sunderland.

I'm sure you feel exactly the same.

It's a long time since I've felt that low after a game.

I didn't feel much better during it actually, after the writing was on the wall from the second minute.

It was pretty much our worst nightmare come true.

Losing to Sunderland is bad enough at any time but when they haven't won in the Premiership since December 2002 it's unthinkably bad.

The sight of all those stripy deck chairs jumping up and down in ecstasy turned my stomach.

I hope all our players felt just as distraught and now we need to see a real reaction from them.

Everyone at the club must take captain Gareth Southgate's words to heart.

The team has to respond by clicking into gear once and for all and starting to do the business on the pitch consistently match by match and for 90 minutes - not just in spells through those games.

Anything less is no longer acceptable. …
