In the wake of Washington's 14-13 comeback win over Dallas, here's a quick lesson for all you young NFL fans out there: Never go to bed or change the channel before the Monday night game is over. Why? A timeline:

11:31 p.m. Monday night: Cowboys lead 13-0 with six minutes to play.

11:32 p.m.: Becker on WGN. Flip. Some weird Japanese anime on Cartoon Network. Flip. Sex in the City on WB. Flip. Real World mini-marathon on MTV.

11:34 p.m. ". . . . when people stop being polite and start being real."

2:01 a.m. Tuesday morning (technically): "Next week on the Real World. . . . "

2:02 a.m.: Yawn. Click.

9:30 a.m., plus 17 seconds: Sound of hand slamming snooze button.

9:50 a.m., plus 10 seconds: Sound of hand slamming snooze button.

10 a.m., plus five seconds: Sound of alarm clock being slammed to floor.

10:01 a.m.: Click. ". . . . SportsCenter starts now."

10:02 a.m.: ESPN commentator Scott Van Pelt: "Amazing comeback in Big D." Sound of spoon hitting kitchen floor.

10:03 a.m.: Highlight of Santana Moss' first touchdown. Sound of coffee mug slamming into coffee table.

10:04 a.m.: Highlight of another Moss touchdown. Sound of coffee mug slamming into coffee table, repeatedly.

10:05 a.m.: Realization that Moss is on my fantasy team but he didn't start. Realization that Cowboys defense and Bill Parcells did. Sound of head slamming into coffee table, repeatedly.
