The lilting sounds of Celtic flutes and mandolins and the driving sounds of bagpipes and drums filled The Bolles School's McGehee Auditorium on Wednesday as the private school held its first community performance with the traditional Scottish sounds of the Tannahill Weavers from Scotland.

The five-member band hails from Paisley, Scotland, and is at the beginning of a 27-concert nationwide tour that ends Oct. 31 in Bellingham, Wash. The band's name comes from the Scottish poet Robert Tannahill, who was a weaver who lived in Paisley from 1774 to 1810, according to its Web site.

Four members of the Glas Tara School of Irish Dance in St. Augustine, including Bolles student Aoife O'Riordan, presented a program of traditional dances before the concert. About 200 people saw the band perform a two-hour set at the Bolles San Jose campus at 7400 San Jose Blvd.
