A Middlesbrough family-run furniture firm is targeting new markets in an expansion to new premises.

Premier Chairs has operated from Skippers Lane Industrial Estate for four years but has now opened a new shop on Longlands Road, Middlesbrough.

Owner Kevin McDonald said the decision to open the 1,000sq ft outlet followed expansion of the company's range of furniture.

He said: "We have a very large range of individual seating, high seat chairs, sofa chairs and recliner chairs.

"Alongside this we also have a strong product range in reclining mobility chairs.

"We found that we were not getting the passing trade for our Skippers Lane site, so our plan is to sell normal recliners from our Longlands Road shop and concentrate on mobility chairs from our Skippers Lane site."

Kevin has been in the furniture business for more than 30 years and set up his first business in Guisborough in 1992 before moving to Skippers Lane in 2001. …
