children at Carl and Andy Pemberton's old school reckon the Teesside lads will definitely have the X Factor when they hit the screen this evening.

Pupils at Acklam Grange School in Middlesbrough are giving their backing to the Coulby Newham boys ahead of tonight's show on ITV.

More than 200 pupils from Year 8 crammed into the school hall to deliver their own good luck message to the lads.

Carl, who celebrates his 25th birthday today, and Andy, 29, were both pupils at Acklam Grange and their teachers said the X Factor show will be one of their toughest tests yet.

Teacher John Jones said: "When they discovered the lads were from Acklam Grange then they really got talking.

"Both Carl and Andy were good workers and very keen but they always had that interest in music.

"Everyone at Acklam Grange is wishing them the best of luck tonight.

"Mind you, they might stand a better chance if they smarten up and wear an Acklam Grange uniform for the show. …
