Brits (Including Little Brits) Set for Emmy Glory

BRITISH TV looks set to storm the International Emmy Awards this year - with shows including Little Britain, Spooks and Catherine Tate all securing nominations.

The New York ceremony honours the cream of television talent across the world.

The BBC and Channel 4 have won a total of 14 nominations in all but one of the 10 categories.

Cult series Little Britain is up for best comedy, to add to the clutch of 15 assorted awards it has already won since its first screening on BBC3 in 2003.

Co-creator and co-star of the show David Walliams has also been shortlisted for best actor.

He will fight it out with Rhys Ifans, nominated for his portrayal of Peter Cook in Channel 4 biopic Not Only But Always.

Two BBC1 shows, Spooks and New Tricks, are contenders for best drama.

Comic Catherine Tate is nominated for best actress, for her show The Best Bits Of Catherine Tate.

And in non-scripted entertainment, BBC2's Top Gear and Channel 4's Borat TV get nominations. …
