Prize Show and Sale of Suckled Calves

At Borderway on Friday Harrison & Hetherington held its annual show and sale of 1,174 suckled calves. A nice quality show was presented to a keen ring of buyers, ensuring what could only be described as an outstanding trade.

The pre-sale show was judged by Mr John Trenholme of Thirsk who did a marvellous job and awarded the Champion prize to a cracking Limousin steer consigned by Hackleton Farms, Nottingham. This animal later went on to make pounds 750 and was bought by the judge. Reserve Champion went to a Belgian Blue steer consigned by Messrs Martin, Hesley Well.
