Nolan Goal Moves Bolton Closer to Last 32

Sam Allardyce believes goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen is one of the "top two or three" of his kind in England.

The Bolton keeper proved unbeatable as the club moved a step closer to the last 32 of the Uefa Cup by defeating Zenit St Petersburg 1-0 at the Reebok Stadium.

Jaaskelainen prevented the Russians from grabbing a point in stoppage time with a stunning block from the impressive Andrei Arshavin.

Allardyce said: "Jussi is playing at the top end of his game. He is one of the top two or three goalkeepers in the Premiership and has proved that again.

"He made a couple of saves in the second half to keep a clean sheet, which meant three points on the board for us."

Kevin Nolan celebrated retaining the captaincy by grabbing the winner in the 24th minute after a shot from Stelios Giannakopoulos had been parried by the goalkeeper. It was the 22-year-old midfielder's fourth goal in four games and his sixth of the season.

Nolan is being touted for England in certain quarters and he certainly looks the part as Bolton continue on the rise. …
