Passers-By Just Walked Away as My Boyfriend Bled to Death in Crashed Car

A WOMAN spoke today of how passers-by ignored her cries for help as she lay injured beside her dying boyfriend.

Two people walked on and two cars failed to stop as Kim Osborne pleaded for help from inside the crashed car. Eventually, she had to stagger out unaided.

Her boyfriend, 21-year-old Ilango Sitharaman, died later.

Miss Osborne, also 21, said today: "I still can't believe people walked past us. It's disgusting. One man came up to me, looked at me and then went away."

Mr Sitharaman's cousin, Sentheesan Yogarajah, 26, added: "The family was really angry. You'd expect people to do the decent thing but sadly there are apathetic people everywhere. It is heartbreaking."

The car crashed while Mr Sitharaman was trying to overtake another vehicle on a humpback bridge in Addiscombe, Croydon, on 8 August. It hit a lamp post and ended up teetering over the edge, above a 12ft drop.

Mr Sitharaman died after sustaining head injuries and losing several pints of blood, an inquest at Croydon Coroner's Court heard. …
