No one was injured late Tuesday after someone threw a bottle of oil at a First Student school bus in the 12500 block of St. Augustine Road and shattered its windshield.

Witnesses told police two teens in a dirty black Chevrolet S-10 sports utility vehicle pulled next to the moving bus at 3:20 p.m. The passenger leaned out the window and threw the bottle at the bus, smashing the windshield as its 60-year-old driver drove. A witness who saw the incident trailed the S-10 until it headed west on Julington Creek Road at Plummer Grant Road.

Police looked for the Chevrolet but couldn't find it.

Another safe was reported stolen Oct. 5 from a home in the 2600 block of Sims Cove Lane in Mandarin. Police said someone smashed out a window and carried out a safe containing an estimated quarter million dollars in jewelry and about $1,000 in cash. Police said witnesses saw a man carrying a safe from the home after they heard its alarm blare.

A 25-year-old Fruit Cove man was arrested Monday afternoon on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and inhaling a controlled substance after a marijuana pipe and two containers of the drug were found in a car in the parking lot at the Walter Jones Historical Park at 11964 Mandarin Road. …
