"Who is Pi?"

The Jacksonville Public Library is encouraging the community to get to know Piscene "Pi" Moliter Patel, the hero of Yann Martel's best-selling book Life of Pi, during the fourth annual Jax Reads program. Life of Pi, winner of the 2002 Man Booker Prize for fiction, is about a zookeeper's son who ends up stranded at sea in a lifeboat with a tiger, hyena, orangutan and zebra.

Book signing

Fox News war correspondent Oliver North will sign copies of his latest book, The Assassins (Broadman & Holman Publishers, $24.99), from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Lifeway Christian Store at St. Johns Town Center. Assassins, co-authored by Joe Musser, concludes the trilogy featuring Marine Corps Col. Peter Newman that includes the books Mission Compromised and The Jericho Sanction.
