Veterans and their families across Teesside will gather this weekend to remember war heroes.

On Friday Redcar Royal British Legion will hold an Armistice Day parade and two minute silence on Redcar High Street at 11am.

The same day, Redcar and Cleveland College will remember the sacrifices made by its "old boys" in a 2pm service at the Corporation Road site.

A wreath-laying ceremony is being held on Saturday with an 11am service at the Smith's Dock Park War Memorial in Normanby.

In Redcar on Remembrance Sunday a 10.40am parade will head from the Coatham Road Social Club, formerly the British Legion Club, to the war memorial.

Meanwhile in Middlesbrough, members of the Royal British Legion will lead a parade from their club on Park Road North at 10.35am to the Cenotaph nearby.

Other services on Sunday in Redcar and Cleveland include:

Boosbeck: 2.30pm at war memorial, 3pm service at St Aidan's Parish Church. Also, 11am Armistice Day service on November 11 at the Memorial outside the church hall.

Brotton: 9.45am service at St Margaret's Church, 11am at war memorial.

Carlin How: 11.45am service and wreath-laying at war memorial.

Dormanstown: 10am service at All Saints Church, 11am at war memorial.

Easington: 9am service at All Saints Church, 9.45am at war memorial.

Eston: Noon service at Eston Square war memorial.

Grangetown: 9.30am service at St Hilda's, 11am at war memorial.

Guisborough: 10.40am parade from Allison Street to war memorial for 11am dedication followed by service in St Nicholas Church.

Lazenby: 11am service at St Cuthberts before gathering at noon at war memorial.

Lingdale: 2pm at war memorial.

Loftus: 9.45am service at St Leonard's, then a parade before an 11am wreath-laying at war memorial.

Marske: 10.30am parade to St Mark's, 10.50am service followed by wreath-laying at war memorial.

Moorsholm: 10.50am Act of Remembrance at war memorial followed by Holy Communion in St Mary's Church. …
