Trio are remanded in custody by JPs

Three people have appeared in court after an incident which left a 38-year-old man stranded on a Metro track.

Graham Milburn suffered a smashed jaw and had his kneecap shattered after an alleged attack at Tynemouth's Metro station on November 5.

Mr Milburn had been out with pals in Tynemouth before going to get the Metro home when he was involved in an incident with a group of youths in which he was punched and kicked.

He was then thrown on to the path of an oncoming Metro train.

With his shattered knee, Mr Milburn was unable to get off the track.

His friend was forced to run down the line and signal to the oncoming train to stop.

Mr Milburn has now been released from North Tyneside General Hospital and is recovering at his home in Percy Main, North Tyneside, with partner Sharron Bell.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault and appeared before North Tyneside magistrates on Saturday. …
