There's a `For Sale' sign in the front garden, we're moving out of here,

To a new place that's full of strangers, though it's a much better place I hear,

The agent says we've done the right thing, moving onward and upward in style,

Away from the estate, all those old memories gathering dust, for we've been here a long while,

The new house is bigger, detached with its own land, the nearest neighbour a distance away,

Whereas where we live now you see and talk to people you meet each and every day,

Living on top of each other, noisy, no privacy or time for space or peace and quiet,

To a more select area, of professional people, and a dream house, with only one chance to buy it,

I look out of my window, wave to a new friend I've met who is really only a passer-by,

I look at my garden, back and front, such fun the family have had. …
