Slimani has been signed up by Simon Cowell's record label.

The 34-year-old will be releasing his debut single Chico Time just before Valentine's Day and has been given his own television show, also called Chico Time, his catchphrase on the show.

Cowell's fellow X Factor judge, Louis Walsh, will also be financially better off, having landed a [pounds sterling]100,000 pay rise to sign up for a new series.

Hewitt's huge tax bill slashed

JAMES HEWITT, a former lover of Princess Diana and reality TV contestant, could avoid bankruptcy after his multi-millionpound tax bill was slashed.

The Inland Revenue had claimed that Hewitt, 47, owed [pounds sterling]2.2 million in tax and [pounds sterling]500,000 in interest and late fees. Hewitt avoided action last month when he offered to mortgage his Kensington flat to clear the debt, and now investigators have found that he owes only [pounds sterling]106,000.
