Jonjo o'neill has warned that Rhinestone Cowboy is only 50-50 to make the line-up for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham on March 16.

The Sue Magnier-owned 10-year-old is the new favourite for the stayers' contest following Inglis Drever's withdrawal, but hasn't been seen on the track since 2004.

He landed the Ballymore Properties Champion Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown on that occasion but has been sidelined with tendon trouble since.

"His legs have been a little fragile ever since he got that tendon problem," said O'Neill.

"He's cantering away but he's nowhere near a run at the moment and it is 50-50 whether we get him there on the big day.

"Every day you give him a canter you run your hand all round his legs to see all is OK, but the plan at the moment is to run in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.

"Ideally we would like to get a run into him if we can before Cheltenham, but if we don't he could head straight there. …
