Tv star Robson Green was back on home turf to film the latest scenes for the drama series Wire in the Blood.

Robson was back on Tyneside to shoot the new scenes in Tynemouth.

Dozens of passers-by and schoolchildren on their lunch break gathered round to watch the actor in action.

Robson, who grew up in Dudley, North Tyneside, turned up with fellow star Simone Lahbib and a film crew and half a dozen vans to do the filming yesterday and was there for several hours.

Many parking spaces on Tynemouth Front Street were coned off as the crew took over part of the road.

A police officer stood guard and was stopping cars from interrupting the scenes by taking a short cut through an archway which leads onto Front Street.

A local office worker, who didn't want to be named, said: "I only came out for a sandwich and didn't know what was going on. …
