A supply teacher who allegedly told children how to make and plant bombs on their bus will not face criminal charges.

In October the Chronicle reported how Mazin Albarq was the subject of a complaint by Durham Community Business College for Technology & Enterprise in Ushaw Moor, County Durham, after he taught at the school last year.

Within weeks Mr Albarq was the subject of a second complaint when he was alleged to have threatened a class at St Bede's RC School, Lanchester, that he knew how to make a parcel bomb and put it on their bus.

Today a Durham Police spokesman said: "It was decided there had been no criminal offence committed.

"He was seen and given words of advice over his behaviour. We are obliged to investigate when a complaint is received."

At the time, his agency, Teaching Personnel, would not comment, but Durham County Council, the local education authority using the agency, later confirmed his dismissal by the agency. …
