Clouding Over is taken to claim a hat-trick in the Edinburgh Evening News Novices' Handicap Chase at Musselburgh today.

The mare did not reach great heights over hurdles, winning only one of her 10 starts in that sphere, but since the switch to the larger obstacles she has really found her feet.

Her third start over fences saw her run out a 12-length winner and she followed up in cosy style over course and distance last time out.

Clouding Over is clearly on an upward curve over fences and a repeat of her last effort may well be enough to see her home in front once more.

Earlier on the same card, Camden Bella bids to continue her improvement in the Rabbie Burns Tribute Mares' Only Novices' Hurdle over two and a half miles.

Nicky Richards' six-year-old won a bumper at Bangor in May before finding one too good at Sedgefield on her hurdles debut.

The step up to two and a half miles at Ayr last time allowed her to get off the mark over timber and she could defy top weight and stage a follow-up. …
