BBC Survey Shows Staff Anger at Huge Job Cuts

BBC STAFF told today of widespread anger at director general Mark Thompson's restructuring plans.

Insiders claim that four fifths of those who completed a corporation questionnaire said they were " frustrated" about the 4,000 impending job losses and the [pounds sterling]355 million budget cuts.

The results of the annual survey will be published next month. Chief HUNDREDS of BBC staff had to evacuate the corporation's White City and Woodlands buildings in west London following a massive power cut.

More than 800 residents in the Scrubs Lane area were affected by the blackout, which lasted more than two hours and was caused by an underground cable fault.

among the staff 's complaints is that they are still being kept in the dark about the job losses, even though they were first announced more than a year ago. In spite of Mr Thompson's vow to keep employees informed, key staff do not know what their jobs will entail over the coming year or how they will cover for the posts which are being axed. …
