Man-of-the-moment Michael Chopra is hoping Newcastle United can continue their revival against Manchester City tonight.

Geordie striker Chopra bagged his first domestic goal against Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup fourth-round win at Whaddon Road and is hoping to keep up his hot streak against Stuart Pearce's side at Eastlands.

And the Toon Academy product says spirits are slowly being lifted in the dressing room as more players emerge from the treatment room.

Scott Parker, Shola Ameobi and Emre all made returns against the Robins, and Aussie defender Craig Moore and midfielder Kieron Dyer have both been spotted at the training ground with the rest of the first- team pool.

Chopra said today before setting off for Manchester: "It's just a matter of time before these players come back.

"There's been talk of all kinds of things being at fault but at the end of the day we just need our players back.

"It showed against Cheltenham. …
