Young graduate Stephen Hind has successfully persuaded the professionals to take him on, thanks to the Chronicle.

Stephen was in his final year at Leeds Metropolitan University studying for a BA (Hons) in public relations when he saw an advertisement in the Chronicle jobs section for a trainee account executive at Persuasion PR in Newcastle.

Even though it was two months before he would graduate, keen Newcastle United fan Stephen applied for the post anyway.

He was keen to start his career in PR in his native North East and thought there was a chance Persuasion might need more staff later in the year.

And as it turned out, he was right. Owner and managing director of Persuasion PR, Paul Dobbie, had been impressed with Stephen's track record, and had kept his CV on file.

So when another job came up at Persuasion a few months later, Stephen not only had some valuable work experience from a Leeds agency under his belt, but he was first in line for an exciting career back in Newcastle. …
