A look at some of the items recommended for approval by the Jacksonville City Council at its 6 p.m. meeting today at City Hall, 117 W. Duval St.

ISSUE: Duval County Courthouse

What it means: Authorizes Mayor John Peyton to develop new plans for building a criminal courthouse in Duval County by 2010. It would also require that City Council approve major contractors, the architect and any consultant whose fees might reasonably exceed $100,000.

Bill No. 2004-1339

ISSUE: Frisbee golf course at Hanna Park

What it means: Authorizes the administration to sign an agreement with Orbital Enhancements Association to design and construct a nine-hole Frisbee golf course at Hanna Park at no cost to the city. Players toss a Frisbee rather than hitting a golf ball. Park improvements will become city property.

ISSUE: Weather equipment at pier

What it means: Allows WeatherFlow, a privately owned weather service, to install a weather vane, an air temperature sensor and other equipment at the Jacksonville Beach pier. …
