Just one official visit weekend is left and Feb. 1 signing day closing in, college football recruiting classes are taking shape. However, there are always signing day surprises and plenty of top talent out there yet to commit, so the race is still on as teams jockey for position heading down the stretch. Here's a look at our top 10 recruiting classes to date:

1. FLORIDA: Urban Meyer not only landed the top player in the country in wide receiver Percy Harvin from Virginia Beach, but he added the top dual-threat quarterback in homegrown Tim Tebow and six other national top-100 prospects. When all is said and done, this probably will be the best recruiting class in Florida history on paper.

2. SOUTHERN CAL: If there's one team that can catch Meyer and his Gators down the stretch, it's Southern Cal. USC has picked more than recruited the last few years, but things haven't been quite as easy this year.

3. TEXAS: The Longhorns had so many early commitments that they haven't received as much press as other teams, but this is a very strong class. Linebacker Sergio Kindle, arguably the top prospect from Dallas in a decade, is the best player in the class, but the most important is quarterback Jevan Snead, who committed to Florida during the summer but changed his mind.

4. NOTRE DAME: Any questions that Charlie Weis could recruit at the college level after so many years in the NFL have been answered emphatically with his first full recruiting class. Future left tackle Sam Young from Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas has NFL written all over him and running back James Aldridge from Indiana has a great combination of speed and power.

5. GEORGIA: Mark Richt could be assembling the quietest top-five recruiting class in history. The clear headliner is Texas quarterback Matt Stafford, the biggest recruit in Richt's tenure. Linebacker Akeem Hebron from Maryland has the look of a future star.

6. FLORIDA STATE: Bobby Bowden is the best closer in the recruiting business, and for the Seminoles to be on the cusp of the top five with crunch time upon them is scary to think about. …
