DAVID BECKHAM today warned Arsenal that his Real Madrid side may be playing the best football in Europe just in time for their Champions League clash tomorrow.

The England captain says the Madrid 'galacticos' could be as " devastating" tomorrow as they were when he played against them here for Manchester United three seasons ago.

Barcelona and Chelsea, who clash on Wednesday, are widely believed to be setting the benchmark in European football, yet Beckham believes Real are currently even hotter than their Spanish rivals.

Though they still trail Barcelona by seven points in La Liga, a run of nine victories in 11 games for Madrid prompted him to declare: "Barcelona are impressive - players like (Lionel) Messi and Ronaldinho are tremendous - but right now we're playing such great football, I'd say we were a notch ahead even of Barcelona."

Recalling the irresistible first-half performance in 2003 when Madrid beat United 3-1, he said: "I hope that we can do the same to Arsenal because, at the moment, our form is as good as it has been for the last few months and if every player here plays to his full potential we can be devastating. …
