TAKING a leaf out of Ant and Dec's book, it seems stars who can't make it to certain events are sending little versions of themselves instead.

Hollywood actors Pierce Brosnan and Nick Nolte, Status Quo's Rick Parfitt and Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson missed a special book launch last night. So they sent sons Sean Brosnan, 22, Brawley Nolte, 19, Ricky Parfitt, 27, and Sam Branson, 20 - a group that wouldn't be uncomfortable with the tag the "New Bratpackers".

The scene was reminiscent of Little Ant and Dec - the two small boys who interview celebrities that the Geordie TV presenters "could not be bothered to".

However, childless couple Sven Goran Eriksson and Nancy Dell'Olio, and Dannii Minogue, right, don't have the same luxury and turned up in person.

They were at Sketch in Mayfair for the launch of a series of sports books that could cost up to [pounds sterling]100,000 per copy.

The first on the market is a leather-bound 900-page opus on Manchester United. …
