DOG ADOPTION, PUPPY KISSES

The Nassau Humane Society and Redbones Dog Bakery & Boutique's next dog adoption will be 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. today at Redbones, 809 S. Eighth St.

Every Saturday is "Puppy Kissing Day" at Redbones. For a $1 donation to the humane society, hold an adoptable puppy and get kisses.

'ELECTRA' AUDITIONS

Fernandina Little Theatre, 1014 Beech St., will have auditions for Electra by Sophocles at 1:15 p.m. today.

Four men and six women, 17 and older, are needed; no previous acting experience is required.

FLT will present Electra April 20 to 29. Rehearsals begin March 18.

KATIE RIDE FOR LIFE

The 2006 Katie Ride for Life will be Saturday, April 22, on Amelia Island. The bicycling event will offer a choice of 100-, 60- and 30-kilometer rides spanning Amelia, Big Talbot, Little Talbot and St. George islands.

The registration fee is $25; riders must raise a minimum of $100.

Proceeds will be used by the Katie Caples Foundation to promote awareness of organ and tissue donation.

BLOOD DRIVE AT NORTH HAMPTON

North Hampton will host a blood drive at its community amenities center 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

An ID is required to donate blood.

FOOD, SHELTER FUNDING

Nassau County has received $11,761 in federal funding for emergency food and shelter programs.

Representatives from the United Way, government entities, the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, the Ministerial Alliance and the Salvation Army will distribute the funds.

Recipients must be private, voluntary nonprofit organizations, or units of government; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; have demonstrated the ability to deliver emergency food and shelter programs; and, if they are private, voluntary organizations, have a voluntary board.

Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.

Interested agencies should contact Gail Shults at the Nassau County Volunteer Center, 1001 Atlantic Ave., Suite B, in Fernandina Beach, 261-2771.

Application deadline is Monday.

QUARTERBACK CLUB

SHORE STABILIZATION MEETING

The South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Association Board of Directors will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, in the Ibis Room at Racquet Park at the Amelia Island Plantation.

The Nassau County Public Library System is conducting a user satisfaction survey.
