SATURDAY CHOICE Strictly Dance Fever/ Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes 7pm, BBC1/9.20pm, ITV1 Doctor Who may not be returning to Saturday evening telly until later in the spring, but you could still feel like you're travelling in time tonight - both the big cheesy shows on BBC1 and ITV1 might have been plucked straight out of the TV listings of the 1980s. Or the 1970s in the case of Strictly Dance Fever ...

The latter hasn't changed a twirl or a shimmy from last year's first series.

Hosted by Graham Norton, this week and next's editions feature the nationwide auditions, then the remaining eight programmes see the 10 final couples whittled down until one bags the [pounds sterling]50,000 prize.

It should have enough embarrassing missteps to provide a decent slice of guilty-pleasure entertainment, but if you want to watch some real trainwreck TV, tune into Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes.

Kicking off with a fairly decent Lulu takeoff from Emmerdale's Delilah Dingle (Hayley Tamaddon) things start to nosedive when former footballer Neil "Razor" Ruddock dons a sparkly red shirt to become Neil Diamond.

Tony Slattery's scary stab at The Beautiful South's Paul Heaton would be the point at which a normal show hits rock bottom. Not tonight's, though, because then on comes Royal reporter Jenny Bond (above right) as a geriatric Debbie Harry and the show drills down into new realms of horror.

A quality, old-fashioned conspiracy thriller in which UN interpreter Kidman overhears a plan to assassinate an African leader, a dictator who just happens to rule the country of Kidman's birth. When she informs secret service agent Penn, he doesn't believe her and thinks she has something bigger to hide. …
