Jane Hall watches as Page 3 model Danni May is given a new look to relaunch her career 12 months after giving birth.

There is a palpable sense of excitement in the air.

The tools of the trade are laid out neatly, the coffee is bubbling away merrily, the lighting is just so, and everyone has been briefed on what their role will be in the ensuing drama.

The only thing missing is the leading lady. Then in she breezes with a wide smile on her face.

This is Danni May, better known as Sunderland's own stunning Page 3 model. Modestly dressed in a black, long-sleeved top and jeans, her shoulder-length blonde hair fans out around her head as she says a cheery "hello".

So slender is Danni it's hard to imagine that 12 months ago the 24-year-old gave birth to her first child, Brandon.

But already she has regained the enviable figure and 36C chest that made her name in some of the UK's raunchier newspapers, and she is about to relaunch her glamour modelling career.

Hence her arrival at award-winning Sunderland -based Ramsay & Johnson Hair and Beauty.

However, Danni's new look will be achieved without the aid of lotions and potions.

Neville Ramsay has something else in mind for his star client ( hair extensions.

Neville has styled Danni's hair for nearly a decade, and has worked with her since she found fame and fortune as a 16-year-old school-leaver, about to embark upon a life as a beauty therapist before a career in glamour modelling beckoned.

He says long hair will be the only way to achieve spring's romantic look. And the only way to achieve instant long hair is by extensions.

It is 18 months since Danni gave up glamour modelling: "I was five months' pregnant with Brandon when I left it behind. But I feel the time is now right to get back into it.

"I've been training three times a week with Neville ( doing kick boxing, running and indoor sessions ( and I'm now in better shape than I've ever been. I used to be a size 10 then, after having Brandon, I was a size 12-14. Now I'm a size 8 and feel terrific.

"Just after I had Brandon, people asked me if I would get back into modelling and I said `no way, not now I have a child'. I thought, `do I really want to be doing that now I have a son'?

"But Brandon had his first birthday on March 2, and I have to admit I've missed modelling. He is such a good baby ( I haven't got a difficult child ( and I really felt I wanted to get back to work. …
