Young communications graduate Jordan Wright has started a career of helping raise young people's aspirations.

The 23-year-old from Forest Hall graduated with a degree in applied communications from Newcastle University in July last year and has now landed a job with Aspire.

The project aims to increase young people's awareness of the full range of employment opportunities within the North East.

It was set up after research showed that almost 60% of young people believe they need to leave the North East after education in order to find their ideal job.

Jordan's new role will involve communicating with a wide range of audiences, concentrating in particular on the youth engagement side of the campaign.

She said: "The North East Really Delivers, or NERD, campaign is designed specifically to engage with young people ( it's their own brand, with their own places to find information.

"It's vital that we continue to communicate with young people in the way that they want us to. …
