THERE'S nothing like a few teambuilding exercises to help your staff spring into spring. It is the season to give the office a boost with a stress-zapping barrier-breaking workshop. There is now a growing industry of companies that specialise in designing and co-ordinating teambuilding events for workplaces, making it easier than ever before to organise, and to find an idea that will best fit in with the culture of your office.

Everything from singing lessons to boot-camp-style assault courses are available, thanks to an increasing demand from firms, mostly in the creative arena, who hold yearly events or away days for their staff and who now try to outdo themselves each year to find an event that will wow their staff and make them one step cooler than their competitors.

So what to try this year? Kickboxing is a growing London trend among fitness enthusiast and is one of the most effective ways to tone up the body and concentrate the mind.

KB Fitness is London's largest kickboxing school and was established by Kelly Bunyan seven years ago. It has now launched corporate lessons to suit virtually any company and particularly those whose staff look well overdue for an exercise rush.

The classes can be held in small or large groups and within the office - KB Fitness claims a decent-sized boardroom is all it needs, though to make more of an afternoon of it, a trip to one of the many larger venues KB has access to across London is recommended.

"There's nothing better for office politics than the PA hitting the focus mitt [a soft handheld shield] that the MD is holding, " says Kelly. "We're experts at breaking the ice, so people generally lose their inhibitions pretty quickly.

Plus, the lesson offers a really good cardio workout, which will make everyone feel great afterwards. …
