NIGEL Reo-Coker received the perfect tonic today ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Final when he was named on standby for England's World Cup squad.

The West Ham skipper was one of two surprise names on the provisional list of 28 players for the tournament in Germany - the other being Arsenal's 17-year-old wonderkid Theo Walcott.

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has major injury concerns over a number of his stars, primarily strike duoWayne Rooney and Michael Owen who both have foot problems.

But with Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell only just back to first-team action, Jermaine Jenas picking up a stress fracture of the shin, Ledley King still on crutches after a foot injury and John Terry suffering a damaged ankle against Manchester United, there could be significant changes before the final 23 are named next Monday.

Reo-Coker has been the driving force behind West Ham's remarkable return to the Premiership, scoring five goals in a season that has seen Alan Pardew's men finish in ninth place in the league and reach their first FA Cup final for 26 years, when they will face Liverpool in Cardiff. …
