Manuwai, Gray Back to Jaguars

Article excerpt

The Jaguars retained a key offensive starter Thursday when left guard Vince Manuwai signed his tender offer.

Manuwai, a three-year starter who played in every game the past two seasons, re-signed with the Jaguars after receiving no outside offers as a restricted free agent.

Manuwai agreed to a one-year deal worth $721,600 after the Jaguars gave him the low tender, which would have given them only a third-round pick -- Manuwai's original draft position -- if he had signed elsewhere. Manuwai can become an unrestricted free agent next winter.

Three exclusive-rights free agents also signed their tenders from the Jaguars on Thursday: center Brett Romberg, quarterback Quinn Gray and cornerback David Richardson. The three had no choice but to re-sign with Jacksonville.

Romberg received a one-year deal worth $500,000, while Gray and Richardson got $425,000 apiece.
