Fresh Acts Performing at Art in the Park; R&B Group Jon'Ra and Guitarist Shawn Fisher Are the Latest Additions

Two young and up and coming acts -- a rhythm and blues group and an acoustical guitarist -- have been added to the entertainment lineup of the third annual Art in the Park, which will be Saturday, April 29, in Green Cove Springs.

The group is Jon'Ra, four brothers from Orange Park who perform a "fused version of hip-hop and R&B, and a hint of old school," according to their Web site, www.soundclick.com.

Their self-titled debut CD was released in January and will be available at the festival.

The acoustical guitarist is Shawn Fisher of Jacksonville, who performs in the alternative and rock styles. His CD, Identity, will also be on sale.

Also on the lineup are musical interludes by the Clay County Community Band and Swing Band and performances by poet John Hammond, storyteller Mary Lou Sutherlin and storyteller and historian Art Yeaman.

Art in the Park, sponsored by the Green Cove Springs Merchants Association, is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Spring Park. The event is designed to showcase budding and established artists, support school art programs, promote local businesses and economic development. …
