Brave Hannah Dowson will soon have the garden of her dreams thanks to generous Teessiders rallying round.

The Gazette told in April how a fund had been launched to transform Hannah's back garden into a safe haven.

And no-one deserves it more than Hannah, eight, who, after a life battling complex medical conditions went blind without warning before Christmas.

Last month, she suffered another setback which put her on life support in Newcastle General Hospital, although she is now stable and showing signs of improvement.

And thanks to generous locals and builder Paul Stephenson, when she comes home to Dormanstown from Newcastle, she'll have a brilliant garden to play and be safe in.

Paul, who runs Priory Fencing and Landscaping, heard Hannah's story when her gran Norma got in touch, asking for a quote.
