The challenge of trying to get one county government or municipality to work in concert is daunting enough. Every day, Brian Teeple masterfully orchestrates this process with seven county governments and 27 municipalities across the First Coast area.

A 20-year resident of North Florida -- with the past nine living in the northwest part of St. Johns County -- Teeple knows firsthand the issues residents living in Jacksonville's shadow face while struggling to adequately balance quality of life with transportation, housing and recreational needs.

Teeple's job as chief executive officer of the Northeast Florida Regional Council is to offer vision, leadership and cooperation across the region by providing a diverse scope of services and programs. The council's expertise and impact in the many programs the NEFRC is involved, touches virtually every life across the region.

"Brian is absolutely wonderful to work with, he has a delightful personality and has a tremendous amount of experience," said County Commissioner Cyndi Stevenson. "He lives in my district and is always great to talk to about issues because he relates to them not only locally, but regionally. Brian always provides practical advice and he's just a fabulous resource."

Teeple's also known to yield a great deal of influence and expertise in the kitchen as well.

The developments currently on [County Road] 210 have contributed nothing in the way of road improvements. There are zero cars on 210 from a DRI community, which is why you have the growing problems currently there. …
