Ivanisevic Tips 'Professor' Tim to Win Wimbledon

GORAN IVANISEVIC, the man who ruined Tim Henman's chance of Grand Slam glory, today insisted the man he calls "the professor" could win Wimbledon this year.

Henman lost a rain-affected three-day 2001 semi-final to Ivanisevic, who went on to win the title against Pat Rafter.

Although Henman has slipped to 71st in the world rankings and will be unseeded at Wimbledon next month, Ivanisevic believes his former opponent is a better bet than 19-year-old Andy Murray or British No1 Greg Rusedski. "I give the best chance of British players to Tim because he has the game to actually win Wimbledon, even now," said Ivanisevic, who will be in London for the BlackRock Masters at the Royal Albert Hall in December.

"You can never underestimate Tim. I like the way that he plays.

I call him 'the professor' of tennis. Okay, maybe he's in his 30s now but I was nearly 30 when I won. No one gave me a chance but I came and I won. If Tim is ready I fancy his chances. …
