Soap star Dale Meeks will be strutting his stuff tomorrow in South Shields. Jennifer Bradbury has the details

Emmerdale star Dale Meeks will be showing off his vocal talents with rhythm and blues band Shake Ya Tailfeather at The Customs House tomorrow night.

The seven-piece group was founded by the popular soap star, together with Customs House favourites Wayne Miller and Iain Cunningham, just over a year ago.

Since then they have played at a number of high-profile gigs such as Manchester's Old Trafford for The Blossom Appeal, Bents Park in South Shields as part of The Catherine Cookson Festival, South Shields' Continental Market in aid of Cancer Research. Queens Hotel Ballroom, Leeds, for an OK magazine event. Alston Town Hall to save their hospital and Cleethorpes for the Wish Upon A Star Foundation.

Shake Ya Tailfeather will be performing at the South Shields venue from 7.30pm.

The idea for the band came about in 1998 when the lads would daily listen to the blues while slugging it out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival performing in the musical The Machine Gunners. …
