Montmorency on the rocks

Eleanor Updale

Scholastic, pounds 5.99

Montmorency is a criminal in Victorian times who leads a double life and uses the drains below the London streets to carry out his crimes. He isn't always bad, though. This is the continuation of his adventures which started in the first book, Montmorency. At the start of this book Montmorency is suffering from a drug addiction. His friend sticks by him and puts him on the path to recovery, sending him off to an isolated island. Here Montmorency gets caught up in another mystery. This is a really involving story which makes you feel you are living the adventure with the characters. You'll be desperate to read books three and four in the series.
