Drugs Baron Forced to Sell Home

A major player in the drugs world who made more than pounds 130,000 from his criminal activities has been ordered to pay almost pounds 72,000 to the state.

Andrew Parker, 32, must pay the courts by selling his home in Overdale Road, Park End, Middlesbrough and emptying his bank account.

He was hit with the confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act by Judge George Moorhouse at Teesside Crown Court.

He is currently serving a nine-year sentence, having been convicted of possessing pounds 180,000-worth of heroin with intent to supply in 2004.

Prosecutor Philip Lancaster said yesterday the Crown and defence lawyers agreed Parker's benefit from crime was pounds 132,130.

In deciding the amount he could pay in realisable assets, it was agreed an Overdale Road property was valued at pounds 70,000.

He disclaimed any interest in BMW and Mitsubishi vehicles recovered by police, which was accepted.

Police inquiries found he had pounds 1,903. …
