Motashim Is Percy Main Man!

Percy Main captain Richie Walker reckons Motashim Ali has been a "fantastic" signing and has played a leading role in the club's new-found success.

After defeating third- top Burnopfield at the weekend, the Main are in a very strong position to not only clinch promotion from Division A2 but also give leaders Morpeth a good run for the championship.

Walker is confident Ali will continue to play his part in the remaining games. He said: "He took another three wickets against Burnopfield and then batted throughout for an unbeaten 55 as we won by eight wickets.

"He has proved a great signing since not only has he taken wickets but he has also scored more than 600 league and cup runs.

"He would probably have done even better with the bat had we not bowled our opponents out reasonably cheaply.

"Only twice have we faced a target in excess of 150 batting second."

Walker added: "Motashim is not only good in games. He has never missed a net or a junior coaching session and we could not have asked for more from him. …
