HE IS one of the fastest-selling comedians at the Edinburgh Fringe and one of the most talked-about TV personalities of the year.

Whether it's sneaking out of Kate Moss's home, being seen on the arm of another adoring female celeb or just causing chaos on Big Brother's Big Mouth - the reality programme's anarchic after- show - Russell Brand has become one of the most recognised men of the year.

But apart from salacious tabloid stories about his sex life and drug addictions, he is creating a buzz by returning to his first love of comedy with a sell- out show in Edinburgh.

Sex is a major topic in Brand's conversation. "I'm sure there is a degree of compulsive behaviour, but if you are in a room with a woman, what is the most interesting thing you can do?" he asked.

"You can be on a mountaintop and appreciate beauty and nature, but those things take a lot of effort and there's the immediacy of sex, and previously drugs, which make me cling on to them."

Brand is not in a relationship at the moment, preferring to live alone in Hampstead with his cat. …
