Strong Bond Binds the Brotherhood

Thirty years have passed since Brotherhood of Man went down in British folklore for winning the Eurovision Song Contest.

But what is an amazing fact is not just that they are still going strong in 2006, but that they still boast the full original line-up.

It was in 1976 that Lee Sheridan, Nicky Stevens, Sandra Stevens and Martin Lee won the Eurovision Song Contest with their hit Save Your Kisses For Me, said to be one of the popular singles of all time, clocking up in excess of five million copies.

It was number one in 33 different countries, including the UK where it held the top spot for six weeks.

Now 30 years after their Eurovision success they are to take advantage of the glorious North East summer weather by staging their show, The 70s Story.

On Thursday, August 17, they will be at the Customs House, South Shields.

The following day they appear at the Playhouse, Alnwick and then, finally, they round their quick North East tour off with a performance on Saturday, August 19, when they appear at the Phoenix Theatre, Blyth. …
