ANNIVERSARY

ROCK 'N' ROLL BACK IN TIME

American Bandstand made its national television debut on Aug. 5, 1957. The network was ABC, and the host was Dick Clark, who would go on to become the world's oldest teenager. Remember the format of the show? Real kids (not actors) danced. Clark introduced songs, interviewed musicians and listed the Top 10 songs of the week. For more than 30 years, Clark kept things hoppin' with artists ranging from Patti Page to Prince.

To commemorate the network premiere, play our Look Back at Bandstand game.
