COMMISSIONERS APPROVE 3,200-HOME DRI IN NASSAU

The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners approved the development of regional impact application for Three Rivers on Monday, opening the door for the 1,641-acre development, which would ultimately include 3,200 homes and 750,000 square feet of retail, office, and light industrial space.

Ambach Communities plans to construct the project west of I-95 between Callahan and Yulee. Ambach president Mark Ambach said that the company will now refine its plan to fit the conditions of the site - a process that will likely take a year. After that, Ambach said the company will be prepared to begin building the infrastructure needed to serve the community.

REGENCY CENTERS ADDS TO CAROLINAS PORTFOLIO

Regency Centers, a Jacksonville based shopping center operator and developer, purchased a Raleigh, N.C., shopping center for more than $19 million.

The deal on the 101,846-square-foot center, Sutton Square, closed on Aug. 10. Regency specializes in centers anchored by grocers; Sutton Square's anchor is Harris Teeter.

Andre Koleszar, Regency Center's leasing representative for the Carolinas and Tennessee, says there are no changes planned for the center now, but renovations are possible.

NEW ARMOR CONTRACT WITH ARMY WORTH $73.6 MILLION

Armor Holdings Inc. Tuesday said it was awarded a $73.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command for production of components for up-armored Humvees.

Jacksonville-based Armor said work on the contract will be done in 2006 and 2007 at the company's facilities in Ohio.
