THE goals have dried up for Boro striker Yakubu - so he's looking to former club Portsmouth for inspiration.

Pompey could go top of the Premiership if they beat Bolton tonight, and the Nigerian ace has reflected on his time there to stress how quickly things can change in football.

"When I was at Portsmouth I went seven or eight games without scoring, but the goals soon came again," he said.

They did indeed, as he notched 36 in just 79 games on the south coast, fuelling belief in the 23-year-old that a similar blitz can come at Boro where he notched 18 last season.

"I'm disappointed at the moment, but it's a long season and now we have to think about the next game," he said. "The lack of goals is frustrating, but we have to keep doing our jobs.

"We have to think about our game and stay in this league. …
