Hammers Takeover Has New Rival Bid; Tycoon Who Landed Tevez Faces Struggle to Own Club, EXCLUSIVE

A SECOND consortium is attempting to win the fight to take over West Ham.

Standard Sport can reveal today that rival bidders to Kia Joorabchian are attempting to raise the investment to buy out chairman Terry Brown.

The Hammers are aware of the secret new consortium - who also have foreign backers - and its plans to raise the finance to prevent Joorabchian getting his hands on the club.

West Ham were today continuing to have communication with Joorabchian, the Iranian-born businessman who is heading a consortium - linked to Israeli property magnates - hoping to take over the Premiership side.

The West Ham board of directors gathered yesterday for a regular meeting with the takeover top of the agenda and decided they would not impose a time limit on the talks.

The final figure for the buyout may be around [pounds sterling]80million with Brown's stake worth about [pounds sterling]29m.

Brown is eager for the matter to be resolved before West Ham's next match, at Portsmouth on Saturday week, but has not given Joorabchian a deadline. …
